ESPN has a panel of 13 “experts” who predict which teams will be in the playoffs. This week none of the 13 predict that 2 Big12 teams Wii get in.

All 13 experts predict BYU as the #4 team. In fact, all 13 pick the same teams to be the top four seeds. All but one expert has the top 4 seeds in the same order.

Typical prediction: 4 Big10 teams, 3-4 SEC teams, 1-2 ACC teams, BYU, Notre Dame, and Boise.

The only variation in opinion is that some include Alabama while others replace Alabama with SMU.

I think that ESPN’s group think will almost certainly be wrong because unexpected stuff will happen. However, the experts probably reflect accurately the low level of respect that most people have for Big12 football prowess.

Oregon, Ohio State, Indiana and Penn State.
Georgia, Texas, Tennessee and sometimes Alabama.
