It was through Teams with the HR girl and the 3rd party benefit guy. Premiums are going up over 25% for the second year in a row, understandably people aren't thrilled about it, especially since a lot of our employees are HVAC techs that are already pinched.

I didn't join the call, but one of my co-workers told me yesterday that he had to jump off after 10 minutes because it was too uncomfortable. So of course I had to find a recording. I looked at the attendees and saw that a colleague in Dallas sent his Fireflies notetaker to the meeting - basically an AI thing that transcribes and summarizes the meeting. He was kind enough to send it to me.

It was great - the transcript had an HVAC manager basically rake the benefits consultant (and the company) over the coals for the increase, talking about how nobody on his team can afford it already, how everything's 100% Obama's fault, etc., all in a public company-wide meeting. The benefits guy kept trying to get everyone back on track, but every couple minutes this guy would pipe back up.

Noticed at the 1 hour mark the meeting was supposed to end and they said bye, and everyone jumped off. However, turns out that the HR girl and the benefits guy had a debrief after everyone left - except for they didn't start a new meeting, they just stayed on the group meeting thinking they were alone. Little did they know that Fireflies was still on the meeting and transcribed their entire 45 minute private conversation where they talked about that employee and how crazy it was, broke down how much of the increase was being passed on to employees vs. the company, and all sorts of other stuff. Nothing too damming, unfortunately, but still was pretty great.
