A few thoughts on the scrimmage
-Vertical spacing will finally be utilized at BYU. There are easy points available if you have players in the right spots and they have the size & athleticism to finish above the rim. Keita will bring an element to BYU that we've never had before.

-The youth on this roster is going to be both exciting and frustrating. The physical tools of Egor & Kanon will be on full display every night. Egor is so much fun to watch, especially in the open floor finding rim runners and shooters. And once Kanon settled into the environment his stroke looked great. But we will also see bad turnovers and stagnant offense due to over dribbling and lack of movement off the ball. The hope is that we'll see huge growth from now through March in these areas.

-Richie is more than just a glue guy. While Knell & Catchings are hunting threes, Richie is simply hunting space because he can score at different levels and his float game was on full display last night. In the half court, Richie will be the wing who benefits most from Egor's vision and passing.

-Boskovic is a weapon and will earn more minutes as he gets comfortable in KY's system and as Hall & Demin get used to him. He isn't just a Stretch Big capable of hitting 3s, he has a beautiful stroke. And he isn't one of these unathletic modern bigs who doesn't want to touch the paint. On a hard closeout he put the ball on the floor and got fouled trying to dunk on Keita's head. So he's got decent athleticism and more to his game than catch & shoot. I'm just curious to see how he holds up defensively against physical bigs in the XII.

-KY's offense has a lot of answers to what opposing defenses want to do. From what I saw last night, there is a lot "If the defense does X, we need to do Y quickly to take advantage of the space or the mismatch." But what I'm interested to see is if the roster as a whole can consistently make the right decisions on time to find success in KY's system. Guys are going to have to deal with physicality, length, etc. and still make the right pass on time. And when the right pass is made the action off of it has to be sudden. Take the open look, hit the cutter, make the quick post move before help comes. Indecision and hesitancy really bog down this offense.
