I keep hearing from local media that the utes still control their own destiny
Not sure how that is true.
There are 6 teams that haven't lost in the B12 yet. Of those 6, uu lost to Arizona, so they don't have control there, they also don't play TTech and WVU so those are out of their control. Uu plays the other 3, BYU, ISU, and Colorado, so they will have a chance to control things there.
I guess someone could do a deeper dive into schedules to see if they do, but I don't see how.
