Data. I totally hate the turnovers, and understand how easy it is to get worked up into thinking we are so right about something in a online/echo/mob setting when in reality we are sometimes wrong. The coaches taking all things into account went with Jake. I wanted Bohannon, cause I didn't like Jakes performance last year. I was disappointed with the decision and wanted to use it as proof that the coaches are wrong again because i don't totally trust our head or OC.
Through 3 games Jake has made some mistakes, but there have been some plays that are just awe inspiring. He's made some next level throws. He's evaded sacks in the pocket that changed the play from a sack and a drive killing big loss to a touchdown. He's on pace to have 12 INT's this year ( i think he'll have a few more). TFD had 28 the Heisman year. Bosco had 24 in 85.
Calling for Jake to be benched during the game yesterday wasn't about his one int. It was about being pissed off at him still for last year. Jake has some Favre in him. He makes incredible throws that many byu QB's haven't been able to make, but he isn't as mistake free as many of them have been either. Just take a moment and read this to see just how good the good has been with Jake so far.
He's improving. I think we are lucky to have him for two years. Now if he goes totally off the rails with bad decisions in conference play...then Gerry is there and ready, but Gerry doesn't need to nor should he be put in the next time an INT is made. Jake should probably have about 1 a game.
