Examples of products where the generic equivalent is horrible when compared to
the name brand?

My vote based on my experience this morning is Pepto Bismol. I was having some gas pains this morning (probably due to the gas station spicy chicken sandwich I ate last night), so I went to the medicine cabinet to see if we had any Pepto to calm my stomach. Nope, but my wife had bought a generic equivalent. I don't love the taste of the name brand, but it's OK. It's not terrible. But the generic equivalent I found in my medicine cabinet tasted like rancid chicken grease. It was so bad I checked to see if it was expired - which it wasn't. It was actually a brand new sealed bottle with a 2026 expiration date.

So I'll put that on the list today. Never buy generic Pepto.
