I love almost everything you hate, the songs, the hosts, the costumes, even the over production. I do hate the audience reactions- so clearly staged. I enjoy trying to guess who's under the mask. I enjoy being surprised by the talent displayed by some unexpectedly good singers. I even enjoy the horrible singers like William Shatner who go on there just as a lark.

I also like that the singers clearly are having a great time. Most are older singers, and this is the most fun they've had performing in years. The athletes and tv people are having a good time doing something outside of their normal comfort zone. Most of them also mention their kids will be so excited to see them.
