Eakins has done a remarkable job this with the softball team, especially after
the injuries to two starting pitchers.
They went 31-22 so far, with a non-conference 20-6 record including wins over Ole Miss, Rutgers, Hawaii and CS Fullerton, and losses to ASU, VTech, LBSU, Utah and Sac State, with a 12-16 conference record after being swept in series against Texas, Baylor and surprisingly UCF, while sweeping ISU and Kansas.
Great win.
Some have speculated that Eakins would be a great baseball coach. I don't know how coaching softball translates at all but he seems to develop players and the team often improves over the season.
