I think Y's Insider's take on Burgess makes a LOT more sense than 95+% of what I've heard from mainstream media over the last month. Chris's job security stunk at the Utes. Contrary to pop media Opin, he is NOT in line to replace Craig S, & he was never as serious a candidate to the HC spot at BYU as was so often claimed. With the yewts likely moving on from Craig S at the end of the season (if not sooner) — the choice for Burgess to preemptively take the job security at the stronger Program in Provo — didn't necessarily require a job raise at all. It could've been a COMPLETELY lateral move.
