for now I would pencil Bartholomew in as the backup 5. We are that thin at the 5
position. If Barber and Cannon are good enough to jump in and play for us right away - that is awesome!! We need more depth and minutes should be up for grabs with how few players we have returning. Davenport showed a lot of promise for us last season but needs to improve her mental game and consistency.

I haven't seen Idaho high school highlights, but Barber and Cannon look too short to play the 5 for us. At the Big 12 level there were some tall big centers. Gustin succeeded for us as a 6'1" post/5 for us last season, because of her incredible strength and combination of powerful frame/agility. Not accounting for someone of Gustin's unusual profile of a short but incredible rebounder, in general I would say 6'1" is too short to be a 5 for the big 12.

We are extremely thin at the 5 spot, and only one or two scholarships are left to give out. Calvert, Bartholomew, and Hamson as our only 5's will be rough.
New transfer Ogden from Buffalo is 6'2", but from the game I saw of her she is smart but not a great rebounder. So I don't think she is material for a 5 position unless we are desperate.
