There are a few Hispanic families in the neighborhood, and each Cinco de Mayo we go to a few of their houses and bring them a taco box and a Mexican flag to help them feel like we can also celebrate Mexican Independence Day, or at least so that they know that we can recognize that it is important to them. We try to go to the same few houses every year, and they always seem super grateful for it. My kids appreciate it, because we always end the day eating Mexican food. It's pretty fun!
