That said, I doubt there are many sports fans that would have a much different reaction than hearing that a star player on the opposition will have to sit for something that is neither life- or career-threatening and could reasonably be described as minor. Commentators are not supposed to say that out loud even if they think it. But he got called out for it, and he should have just apologized and moved on.
