If they wanted to make it official they would have said what it was. They want
to downplay the salary so they said it was less than the 30 million neighborhood. They may also be stating what the university is paying and not donors. Based on the articles from new reports who would have the info from agents 30 million is around what it is but I am sure it is a bit less than that. The Des News article is not at all official, it is just tryingt to downplay the amount. That is the only goal - not to make it official.
