Today we finished laying our last block. We still have a ton of work to do to get ready for the cement next week, but we have the main structure up. I went and bought 2 - 7 foot pieces of 3 inch Angle Iron to put above both of the doors where I was concerned about the thickness of the cement. I don't want a big truss making it's way through the wall of my house. I also decided to put in a double helping of 1/2 inch rebar on the top row, and a triple over the Windows and Doors. Just can't be too careful. I hope i can get the Cement through the rebar to the bottom. I need to pull square on the top to ensure that I am ready for trusses in a couple of weeks. (My wife's family is having a family reunion in Wisconsin in a week and a half)
I don't want to stop building. Momentum is huge when you are working projects like this, and I feel like I have a pretty good head of steam. I have to go back to school in a few weeks too, and I get cut from 10-12 hours a day to 5 hours max.
Here are some pictures.
