My neighbor has two colonies.
They each swarmed in the last week or so. One he estimated to be 30,000+in size based on the weight. They swarmed on my pear tree out by my garden and below the swarm I noticed a branch about the size of a wooden drumstick in diameter that was completely broken off and on the ground. I have a pic of the swarm but too lazy to post it. Bees are amazing tho! Good luck.
