The feature story is on Benny Anders, the enigma from 30 years ago of Phi Slamma Jamma. Photo shows Anders hand above the rim and Rose Benny is blocking out. Benny was considered by many the best athlete on the team (and Houston had two top 50 NBA'ers in Clyde Drexler and Hakeem Olajuwon). Benny has disappeared off the face of the earth and the author talks about his pursuit to find him. Anders is famous for the line of "I drop a dime on the big Swahili, he got to put it in the hole" which is Jammamese for "I don't like to pass, but when I do, Akeem Olajuwon needs to score." Author didn't find him.
Best Basketball game I ever watched was Houston vs. Louisville in the semi-finals in '83--more spectacular dunks than you could shake a stick at. Olajuwon had 20-something points, 20-something rebounds and 8 blocks. Since he couldn't shoot (way before the dream shake) all he could do was dunk. Clyde was amazing and so was the rest of the cast and crew.
