trying to recover from their "bad" years? I'm sure not many. Every coach that is trying to build a program has to pick preseason games they think they can win especially if your season is tougher. It gives you something to continue building on. It's not like these are the only teams they will play the entire year. Plus there are plenty of kids that can make it to the NBA if they are good enough, no matter what team they are on.
