I think it's 100% clear except to the haters and tin foil hat guys that Ohtani
was completely oblivious to Ippei's malfeasance.
But the craziest thing about this is Shohei appearing to not be visibly upset by the whole thing.
I assume this is a Japanese cultural thing. Nothing on the field seems to rile him up either. But I think it would have further solidified his lack of culpability in the public eye if he had been a bit more demonstrably upset when it all went down.
