I have a shower handle that has broken off in bathroom. Went to Lowe's and guy there really helpful in getting parts but said it can be difficult to extract old core and properly clean the cylinder. Kind of scared me from trying and I'd like to find a plumber that's reasonable. I offered him, but he wasn't interested. He said he had an acquaintance that called one of the bigger plumbing groups around and they charged him $750. I'll try myself before I'd pay that, but in $250 to $350 range I'd hire someone.
