Maybe because Pope gives him the freedom to shoot 10-12 3s per game.
Not sure what offense they will run at UK, but I can see the interest in following a coach that helped you go from non contributor to potential NBA player. KY is intriguing because of his NBA coaching experience and his desire to run a 3s and rim offense as well, in addition to familiarity with the players and program at BYU.
Going to UK is somewhat unknown since the roster is currently empty, so that does have some risk for sure. If they bring in a few players similar to Robinson, his role could be unsure.

Gotta believe Pope has the inside track on him. But KY does seem tailor-made to at least give us a real chance.
