sports moment for me.
I went this past year on Sunday, and the build up was exciting, walking into the gate, and just everyone is on cloud 9.
The course is in incredible shape and a lot more hilly than what it looks like on TV, which can be nice for viewing options as it creates a natural stadium seating around several holes.
The food is cheap, but not good. Which is to be expected for the price. The merch area is great and the buzz of spending money is fun.
The only other golf events I've attended are Quail Hollow Wells Fargo/President's Cup. The comparison for me would be Augusta = Fenway and Qual Hollow = Oracle Park. There's a ton of history on one, but arguably the experience at the other is better.
At the end of the day, it was a bucket list item for me, but I'll be fine if I never go back. I enjoyed my time. I think a practice day may be better because watching golf on tv is 10x better than in person imo. Especially since you can't take your phone into Augusta, you just have to watch the scoreboards they have to know how people are doing. Every hole is just so crowded, trying to find good viewing windows, it's a lot of work. Which is every golf tournament.
