My mom has late stage dementia. I am her primary caregiver.
I wish I could be encouraging, but there's not much to look forward to. I recently wrote a letter to a judge to get an extension on a speeding ticket fine and I said my mom needed a similar amount of care as a developmentally disabled toddler. That was being generous.

Caring for her has crippled me; financially, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. If you're going to care for a loved one, get some sort of compensation agreement with the estate in writing. Otherwise you can end up destitute. Ask me how i know...
