If we are going to go after players who want to play someday in the NBA we have to realize that they don’t care about the program like we do. They aren’t going to care about wins or losses the same way we do. They care most about themselves and if they are closer to reaching their goal. We are just a stepping stone for them to get to the next level.

Take Catchings for example. We are a much better team with him coming off the bench and playing limited minutes. It completely changed the outlook of our season once that change was made. But that doesn’t matter to him and his family. They don’t really care if we win games if he is on the bench. They don’t care if we make it to the sweet sixteen for the fourth time in program history if he is not getting playing time. Their number one concern is him and if he is getting closer to making the nba. That’s not a knock on him or his family that’s just the reality of the situation.
