Here is the pay structure for the following picks:
Pick Year 1 Salary Total Guaranteed (2 years) Total Value (4 years)
#5 ~$8.4 million ~$17.6 million ~$37-40 million
#10 ~$4.9 million ~$10.3 million ~$21-23 million
#15 ~$4.0 million ~$8.4 million ~$18-20 million
If they project him in the 13-15 range, I think he is better off trying to improve his draft stock by trying to be a top five pick the following year. Another year with KY and company, and I think that is a realistic possibility. There is a risk he doesn't perform much better than this year, but I don't think he would drop much from a top 15 unless he gets hurt. So he should definitely look at getting insurance in his NIL package if he stays.
If he is around the 9-12th pick, the decision gets really tough for him.
If he gets projected in the 5-8 range, he for sure needs to go.
This is mostly looking at things from a financial perspective, but that is going to drive most of the decision if we are being honest. And is should as all of us go to college so we can make more money ultimately.
