from one area of the terminal to another. As I approached the doors where I wanted to catch one of these trains, there wasn't anybody there other than a five-ish year old boy wearing an BYU hat. And he was crying. And I was also wearing a BYU hat.
I quickly asked him if his family got on one of the trains and accidentally left him. He just nodded between little sobs. I told him it would be okay, his family will definitely come back for him, and that I would stand next to him until his family got there.
Sure enough, a frantic father burst out of the doors a couple of trains later. I called out and waved him over, and he quickly ran over and scooped his little guy up.
I said, "Would have helped regardless, but when I saw the BYU hat, definitely knew I was supposed to help." Then pointed to my own hat and said, "Go Cougs."
Dad just looked at me and walked away. No thank you. No "Go Cougs" in return. Almost as though he thought I had tried to kidnap his son.
So if that dad is on CougarBoard, you're welcome.
And (especially today) GO COUGS!
