Mods - wasn't sure where to put this, so I put it here.
When I was a freshman at BYU Brian Santiago was in the bishopric in my ward.
During elders quorum my first or second week there he told us a story to encourage us to stay awake during church.
During fast and testimony meeting after a Saturday night BYU basketball game, one of his teammates fell asleep. There was a lull in the testimonies, so Brian nudged his teammate and told him the bishop just called on him to give the closing prayer. So he got up and gave a closing prayer while Brian and his friends held in their laughter. Of course the meeting wasn't over, so the bishop called on a different person to give another opening prayer and the meeting went on.
I don't know if it was true, but as a freshman I thought it was great way to motivate us to stay awake!
