BYU won this game at the foul line and Coach Odom mentioned that disparity but did not complain about officiating. He realized BYU was getting those calls because they were taking it inside. VCU shot only 9 FTs compared to 28 for BYU. If that disparity was reversed how many on this board would be blaming the officials. My point is that when you take the ball at the rim you are going to get more fouls called. When you are relying on jump shots, which VCU did in the game, you don't get as many calls.
