... than the ACC.

His green graphic on the right side showed the avg ACC school received nearly $50M in MEDIA contract payouts alone in FY 2023, when the entire ACC conf distribution was only $44.8M/school per USAToday's college finance guru Berkowitz (remember, conf distributions include CFP/Bowl payouts, ongoing NCAA Tourney Units, Conf Champ Game income, licensing/advertising/branding rights, etc. above an beyond the media payout)
Also, per Sportico, the average ACC public school only reported $34.6M revenue from "media rights" that year, but Altimore somehow got a figure over 40% higher🤦♂️
Citing fan board cacluations (Tomahawk Nation & ACCFootballRx) without pausing to see if they even remotely pass the smell test is lazy at best, and disingenuous at worst...
I realize that the ACC network is becoming profitable, but it's not throwing off cash like the B1G/SEC networks, and not nearly enough to get the figures quoted.
Altimore ended up looking pretty foolish throughout the whole Pac-12/Big12 realignment kerfluffle, but he seems ready to keep doubling down on anything that makes the Big12 look "lesser than" it's peer-level conferences of the ACC and the former Pac-12, even if it involves fabricated & fudged figures.
I have a little longer discussion with more sources and figures in the X thread below if interested
