Long shot, but a good friend of mine may have "Empty Nose Syndrome"
Has been about 9 months since he had surgery for a deviated septum.

Empty Nose Syndrome can happen after certain nose surgeries where parts of the nose (usually the turbinates) are removed or reduced. Even though the nasal passages might look wide open, people feel like they can't breathe enough air. Symptoms include constant dryness, a feeling of blocked air even when the nose is open, crusting, bleeding, trouble sleeping, and sometimes anxiety or depression. It’s tough to deal with because it affects both the shape of the nose and how the brain senses airflow.

He's really an awesome dude, but is going through this health crisis right now. ENS is complex, and not all ENTs are equally experienced with it. He's seeking out an ENT who is familiar with ENS or a tertiary care center (academic medical center).

Anyone here know of someone? TIA.
