Even with two of the most highly recruited freshmen ever, Richie, Fouss, Knell,
and Baker are frequently carrying the team. Experience is paramount in college basketball.
I’d love to see 1 or 2 one and done type freshmen, 1 or 2 four star freshmen who will be 3 to 4 year guys, and a few experienced highly regarded transfers. And I think of those three groups, the most important to deep tournament runs will be the 3 and 4 year guys.
Potential is great, but consistent high level execution is better.

This is why Pope is doing so well at UK so far. He built himself a squad of a bunch of multi-year veterans with no egos.
