This is entirely out of need to cut the roster to 105 players. Just out of roster needs we will have the following players cut or told to enter the portal:

QBs: 1 and possibly 2.
WR: possibly 1 in addition to Epps
RB: none likely forced to portal
TE: Possibly 1
OL: Probably 1

DL: Probably 3, most likely coming from those listed as DE/Edge
LB: 2 or 3
DB: In addition to Wakely, probably 1 more safety.

Specialists (K/P/LS): probably none, and we need to sign another LS

That sets the roster at 105 with just the existing players we have returning and those returning from missions and those who will play immediately from the 2025 class. Every time we sign someone from the portal, it means we also have to drop someone off our roster (i.e., tell them they have to enter the portal)

I don't know how active we're going to be signing people in the portal. If we sign someone, we can't take a chance on a project. They need to be demonstrably better than players at the bottom of the position group, because those at the bottom will have to fall off and go into the portal.
