95% of what you read about drug pricing and PBMs is incorrect and/or badly...
...slanted, and that includes the stuff in the NY Times, WSJ, etc. as well as the bills and reports issued by Congress, Senate, FTC and others.

PBMs definitely have their problems, but they have been very successful at extracting discounts from retail pharmacies and drug wholesalers and rebates from drug manufacturers and the vast majority of those savings are passed onto pharmacy customers (yes, they also make healthy profits for doing this). The drug cos and pharmacies have been fighting back through a concerted PR/lobbying effort to hamstring the PBMs, claw back some of these discounts, and enrich themselves. This is just the latest effort.

Be skeptical.
