I hereby present, in honor of our inevitable victory today, 1st Batty, chapter 1, verses 1-10:
And it came to pass that that one, whose name was Batty, rose from among them on the battlefield and spake unto them with a loud voice, saying: It mattereth not the manner of victory alone, but in the spirit by which we engage in this contest; For it is manifest how one’s heart may be revealed through the way one doth strive.
And behold, I witness many, even myself, who hath not shown forth the diligence and fire that is required for victory today, though thou knowest that we have labored much and sacrificed greatly for this endeavor.
Therefore, I ask thee, what is our greater purpose in this struggle?
Consider those who stand beside thee, for we strive for one another, yet at this time, we perform as if we are weak and lack courage; Verily, I say, such is not fitting for us, for we are meant to rise up with strength and unity, and not shrink with fear.
And lo, though it appears that our enemy doth prevail in this contest, while we labor in vain, verily, our hearts are set upon this matter with much greater fervor than theirs, for I know within mine own heart thy dedication, for I have witnessed thy toil and the trials thou hast endured in pursuit of this victory.
Therefore, I beseech thee, let us all hold this matter dear, and think upon the purpose of our gathering together against our foe at this hour; For behold, we have but a short time remaining to fight; it may be the final moments of our time here; And such is the weight of its significance.
Is this how thou choosest to approach the greater contest in which we are engaged?
Let us strive with all our might during the short time that is remaining; for it is the time for our finest effort upon the field of battle.
And what doth it require, my brethren? Verily, thou must behold the man beside thee, and say unto them: I shall give all that is within me for this short time remaining; I shall offer thee my utmost; I shall not speak in discontent; I shall not utter complaints; And verily, I shall pour forth my very soul into this contest for thee.
My brethren, let it be known amongst thee, I care not if they must bear my body off this field at the battle's conclusion.
