Potato Utes but Boisie seems to have been the most fortunate college football program to exist for several decades.
* They always seems to get good coaching, it seems very unlikely that they wouldn't hire some duds during that span.
* They always seem to be able to find and recruit game changing players with seemingly limited appeal and limited resources.
* Just when they seem to have come back down to earth for the last few years they somehow manage to find a guy no one else could who turned out to be one of the best players in college football.
* I'm wondering if Jeanty would have come to BYU if his only two offers were us and BSU.
* I'm wondering if the BSU brand is now comparable to ours among casual non LDS College football fans because they seem to be consistent on a national level. Also I don't think we have overcome our G5 like perception as not being a real national threat no matter who we played what conference we are affiliated with, and also the assumption that we haven't beaten any good teams. I don't really hear the same thing being said about Boise but maybe I just haven't looked hard enough. It probably helps that they have a guy liked Jeanty, to give them credibility even though it doesn't make that much sense that one guy could make a team.
* It's been said that a lot of recruits want to come and play there because the dumb blue turf they play on is a selling point. I can't imagine that being true unless these kids have very bad taste and don't mind playing for a tacky, gimmicky program. If it were me, it would be off putting and a deterrent.
* It will be interesting to see how the new NIL era will effect them or continue their run of good fortune like business as usual.
* Don't get me wrong I don't think Boise is worthy of that much respect or admiration, but it's very remarkable how they have been able to maintain success over such a long period of time with really not much advantage over any other program to fall back on. I don't know much about their program, maybe they just have the most effective AD ever.
