The main character suddenly caring about the city he wanted to burn down the day before was awful development. He was basically spitting in his mother‘s face one day and then ready to die for her the next.

CGI animals just looked so bad compared to the tigers in the first movie. Really didn’t get a sense of the gut wrenching terror of the Colosseum because the first fight so absurd.
