You go hiking to a waterfall to find out everyone has their bluetooth speakers, or if it's privately owned, the owner themselves will be piping music. Where I live, people get all hushed in nature, like they're entering a really old European cathedral. In Latin America, that's a great place to have a party with music and the like.
It's changing now, because of devices, but it used to be every house you'd enter in Mexico would have the TV going whether people were watching or not, and every restaurant still has TVs going constantly, or a big screen with YouTube music videos or whatnot.
