I ordered some groceries today, and they were misdelivered. They were misdelivered even after the neighbor told the guy he was delivering to the wrong place. I had to go over to the neighbor's and make three trips hauling everything back. I was annoyed, and jumped on Amazon chat to ask for my tip back.

Which they couldn't do, apparently. They could, however, give me a promotional credit. I didn't want a promotional credit, I wanted to send a message to the driver to maybe pay attention next time, as this isn't the first time this has happened. The money isn't the point.

But what baffles me about this is that Amazon obligates you to set the tip amount ahead of time, and then makes it impossible to modify or cancel that amount. What's the point of a tipping system in the first place if it can have no impact on the service you get?
