The betting lines are set to draw bets first and foremost. Too many people get caught up in the numbers thinking that’s what Vegas books are saying the total score or point differential will be. They move the lines to try to even out the bets on both sides. Obviously when setting the lines they are predicting favorites and totals, but the ultimate goal is to entice bets get a decent semi even split and take the juice 10%.
