Concerts than we used to, more vacations than we used to, our cars are newer, we need side by sides and huge trailers etc

When I was a kid both my parents worked but didn't need to. They had way more money than I do. They also had crappier cars than I do, we went on way less vacations and the vacations were did go on were usually in state rather than the Caribbean or Hawaii (where I take my family). We didn't have cable TV, didn't have a dishwasher, didn't have a cordless phone. I dont think my parents EVER went to a concert. They didn't buy a new expensive Halloween costume each year. They never moved. I could go on all day.

Today's society are big spenders. Need more income to support all the unnecessary (wasteful) spending.
