Well, they didn't give out medals with a ribbon back then...just a tiny little
medal. My state championship medals are the smallest that I have, but are my most prized.
My wife and I argue to this day about it. I believe that I can turn practically any runner with the right mindset into a champion, because I was the worst of the worst. She says you have to have talent.
