thanks for the suggestion, Google Keep is close to what I'm looking for and will
probalby be what I use. If I can get apple reminder to sync with it it will be perfect, but otherwise I'll probably just use keep.

I just use Google Keep with checkboxes, but I imagine the apple notes app can do

Outlook has a "to-do" tab. Gmail has tasks integrated into the calendar.
