No fan I have spoken with thinks we are going to the CFP. Most fans I know are wary of Baylor and worried about either a letdown this week or that if the ball doesn't bounce the right way for the team, we may lose. Most fans I see on CB and elsewhere are hopeful now for a winning season and bowl game. We see 8 wins as a legit option.
The author comes off as kind of a sourpuss to me. This articles seems like it is leading to something profound or maybe even a discourse on fandom and why fans shouldn't get their hopes up to high. But then the articles ends and that is it. She is missing the emotional journey of being a fan and what makes it so much fun. Sure, it would be great to win 10 games a year and go the the CFP often. All of us want that, but being a fan is as much about the journey and all the emotions, euphoria, battle scars and ups and downs that come along with it.
Let's all keep our blue goggles on and our hope alive as long as possible, all while being based in reality.
C'mon Meg, a girl can dream!!!
