The only thing it’s likely to do is increase the desire to have written
Contracts. But even then I think this problem will still persist. Coaches are salespeople when it comes to recruiting and probably say/insinuate a lot of things to try to persuade guys to come play there. Recruits are young kids, many from families without strong financial backing. They’re in a position to not understand how to do things to protect themselves and trust the hype as opposed to being realistic.
