What I can see possibly happening is that the WC teams are decided before Monday, but seeding isn't settled.
Even if we only look at the Braves and Mets:
Braves sweep KC, Mets get swept by Boston. Braves would hold a 2 game lead over the Mets, but the Mets could still get in by claiming 2 more victories over the Braves and therefore the tie breaker.
Reverse it and the Mets are solidly in, but the two games against the Braves could affect whether they are the 5 or 6 seed depending on what Arizona does to finish out the season.
Odds are neither team gets swept in their final series and would likely mean those two games are still determinative.
It's hard to imagine that neither of these two games are gonna matter. At least one of them will.
