I shared this story late last night on a post in hopes of winning tickets to the game. Don’t know if I’ll win them but thought it was time CB knew the truth.
In 2022 I married into a HUGE sport family. I was in shock, coming from a family that’s only sport watching experience was enjoying the Super Bowl commercials. More than being just Big sports fans, I was shocked at how addicted to cougar board my husband and my in-laws were. I consistently teased them for what I thought was a weird habit scrolling on a strange website. Until last year when I got a 8-5 working at a computer and wasn’t busy for over half the day. I decided to check out cougar board. Somehow I thought it would be fun to pose as a 40 year old man and start posting. I am in my 20s and a girl hahha. I created this account and would secretly post multiple times a day, keep in mind I had limited sports knowledge and no knowledge of BYU athletes. But I did my homework. I would find breaking news and twitter posts to share. While I used chat GPT to write “sporty sounding commentary” in the beginning, I quickly became proficient enough in sports talk. I would make it on the leaderboard multiple times a week. For MONTHS my husband and his family had no idea that their sports info was coming from me (the person sitting on her phone in the corner during a watch party). Sometimes the family would even have conversations with me about MY cougar board posts. Just go read my post history and I guarantee you have read one of my older posts. One day I decided to stop the charades and come clean. I made a post that got on the star page and then edited it to shout out my in laws by name. It was awesome and everyone was shocked that I was able to post as much as I did in those few months. People still talk to me about it at family parties hahaha
So basically I now love cougar board and would love to go to the game!!
