I've been at both SIU and SMU games. This is the second game that I’ve sat behind the BYU bench. Over the entire 120 minutes of the first two games, I would say Gerry Bohannon is—on average—25 yards from the offense.
While the offense is playing, he’s way down the sideline (not by other coaches or players subbing in). He’s usually away, with his helmet on, or held up to his head (listening to Arod, I presume).
During timeouts while the offense is huddling, he’s nowhere to be found.
Even after the game tonight, he was kind of lonesome, walking around and high-fiving other players—not really talking to any BYU players.
He seems to be close with Lassiter—they often are talking on the sideline. But other than that, he seems to have very little connection with the offense or the team.
