Trevor Matich continued... "The mistakes that he made were the kinds of mistakes that are easy to correct. Reigning him in is easier that getting him to do things that he cannot do. That's easy to correct"
"Bad things will happen. Mistakes will be made. We have to give guys the chance to make mistakes and then fight their way through it and come out the other side. Otherwise, when guys make mistakes they're out. It was really good for Jake to be able to fight his way through and then be able to engineer that last game-winning field goal drive, and show that he IS the quarterback that they know that he is. We've seen the last two games how he has been such a baller. He has been able to fit the ball in tight windows. He's been able to make plays on the move... but for some mistakes that should be easily correctible. The coaches were right to stay with him and he PAID off that confidence with the game winning filed goal drive"
