The lady is living there for free because she's got substance abuse issues as well as drug related criminal offenses. The owner of the home took pity on her and let her and the dog stay there for free while she figures her situation out. The lady apparently is also schizophrenic (not that that justifies anything imo.) The owner of the home wasn't there at the time of the attack, but upon learning of it called and had already had the dog removed and has given the lady 2 days to get her stuff together and get out. Apparently the dog isn't even the lady's. One of her druggie pals gave it to her hoping it would provide "emotional support."

The owner has also approached the parents of the Boy and has offered to cover all medical expenses and the cost of any counseling that might come as a result of the attack. The Mom of the Boy that was attacked posted a message thanking everyone for their concern and support and asked everyone in the neighborhood to leave the owner of the home at peace as they're working things out with them directly.

Super strange story.
