In 2017 I went on a cruise. The hostess told us her name while we were waiting to be seated in the dining room (we went at a different time than we were schedule for some reason). Then she asked us to guess where she was from. She was probably in her early 20s. I don't remember what I guessed but I whiffed badly. My brother-in-law correctly guessed Croatia. When she said she was, indeed, from Croatia, I quickly said, "Ah, the land of Kresimir Cosic." Her face instantly registered both shock that I would know who he was and a megawatt smile at the mention of his name. She would have been a toddler when he died or possibly not even born yet. But she knew full well who he was.
I told her that he and I had attended the same university in America, but I went to school years after he did.
