Assistant Coaches Review - this has me excited
I'm pretty fired up about this coaching staff so wanted to do a VERY brief overview of what each brings to the table for KY.

My brief summary below, please feel free to add to this:

High level: 1) LOADS of international experience / recruiting ties (CB consistently points out we should be better here, seems like we will be) 2) A coach with very strong Utah recruiting creds 3) Tons of G-League development 4) More religious diversity (I think four non-LDS assistants) than the prior staff 5) Some proven basketball minds

Burgess - LDS:
- Playing experience: parade high school all American '97, played under Coach K and Majerus
- Strengths: Recruiting / deep Utah recruiting ties / sounds like he is liked / respected by Utah AAU coaches (unlike a former BYU HC who shall not be named)
- Wins so far: Keita

Brandon Dunson - Not LDS:
- Playing experience: College stints at 4 schools, mostly smaller ex Arizona State
- Coached at Nevada, Cal State Fullerton, Stanford (most recent 2 seasons)
- Strengths: Recruiting - according to the BYU announcement, he was instrumental in helping Stanford land two top 40 players for the first time ever in their history - McDonald All-American Andrej Stojakovic and Top-40 recruit Kanaan Carlyle.
- Wins so far: Crawford / Mag (has known him for 10 years)

Will Voigt - I don't think LDS:
- Playing experience: Nothing collegiate, looks like played college soccer at Pomona
- Coaching pedigree: Robby said it best yday: BYU has never got an assistant coach with this type of basketball resume. Will has 26 years of experience in several continents including head coach of Nigerian national team including in the Olypmics
- Strengths: My sense from everything I've read over the last 24 hours, 1) international ties 2) player development 3) He is a real x's and o's kind of guy. Peel switch, etc.

Tim Fanning - I don't think LDS:
- Playing experience: All-conference at Whittier College in '07
- Coaching pedigree: Not as extensive as Voigt but also brings a ton of global coaching experience
- Strengths: 1) International ties / multi-linguist (studies languages 30-45 min every morning) 2) G-league development creds (most notably with Alexandre Sarr who will potentially be a top 3 pick in the lottery)

John Linehan - Not LDS:
- Playing experience: Providence, he was a stud - 2nd team all Big East for 2 years, played professionally for 11 years, mostly in Europe where he was a lock down defender; when he graduated he was all time leader in steals
- Coaching pedigree: All in NCAA - Drexel, Brown, Hartford, Georgia, St. Joes
- Strengths: 1) East coast recruiting ties + claim to coaching A. Edwards at Georgia 2) My bet is he has strong defensive creds given his personal background
